Waiting Room, a play by Jeffrey William Pickin, 1999
$21.00
Jeffrey William Pickin began writing plays in the sixties in his native England. He came to America in 1974, and now lives in Southern California.
“I met Jeffrey Pickin in 1974 in Boston. We were the two playwrites in a theater group at Playwrite’s Platform meeting on Trentmont Street. We have subsequently gone in our own directions, leading him to Los Angeles, and me to New Hampshire. Nonetheless, over the past 26 years we have continued to correspond, talk on the phone, visit upon occasion, act as editors for each other’s work, and as backboards for each other. It has been an egoless relationship between two writers that has deepened our friendship, and enriched both our lives. A few years ago I encouraged Jeffrey to rework Waiting Room for publication. It is with great pleasure and warmth that I am able to serve as midwife in bringing this profoundly romantic play to a form that hopefully gives it new life and a vehicle to be shared with others.”
